On September 22nd I went to the MRF ( Motorcycle Riders Foundation ) Meeting of the Minds in Romulus Michigan.
There was about 100 bikes and 300 bikers, representing 38 States, and 3 Countries. Canada, England, and Belgim.
MCC ( Motorcycle Collision of Canada ) CMC (Collision Motorcycle Canada ). England and Belgim was there representing FEMA ( Federation of European Motorcyclist Association ).
It started on Thursday with a meet and greet, with issues people are facing in their States. 60 issues.
Friday started with the state of the MRF, followed by 8 classes. Due to circumstances I was the only one to make it there from Ky. I attended the Legislative Planning, and town hall meetings. Other interesting classes I didn't get to was Rights and Obligations at motorcycle checkpoints, Social Media Presence.
Saturday started with a update what is happening in Canada, and Europe. Followed by a representative from Harley Davidson. There was 10 classes offered. I attended Sportbike Riders Bridging the gap, and a class on Magic members and toxic members. Other interesting classes was Protecting your SMRO, A Bikers view of the Constitution.
There was alot of talk about SAE J2825. This is a noise ordinance that is coming up in states all across the nation. Please get to a district meeting to find out more about this.
Sunday I left early in the morning to get back home. If I had stayed all they had was a bike blessing followed by a ride.
The next meeting of the minds will be September 20-23, 2012 in Durham. North Carolina.
